Somalia: President Hassan receives a letter from David Cameron, Meets British And Swedish Ambassadors

The President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has met with British and Swedish ambassadors to Somalia sources confirmed.

A separate meetings that the president had with Britain’s Neil Wigan and Swedish Ambassador Mikael Lindvall focused on major issues related to the political framework of the country, the 2016 vision and the role of western governments towards building the institutions of the federal government.

According to government sources the president received a letter from David cameron, the newly re-elected Uk prime minister that states the commitment of UK government to continue their cooperation, support and rebuilding the war-torn country.

“UK wants to support and fund Somali government to Establish a strong national army” the letter reads.

The president also met with Swedish Ambassador who said that his government will focus on developing the political and security sectors of Somalia.

The two Ambassadors applauded the political progress made by the government perticularly the endorsement of Somalis commission-Electoral Board, Judicial Services Commission and the Boundary Committee.

Somalia plans to implement the 2016 vision and have a free and fair election since the collapse of their central government in 1990s.
