Series fighting in Lower Shabelle region has forced families to flee from their villages as al-Shabaab continue to launch lethal attacks on military bases.
Dozens of al-Shabaab fighters have attacked several fronts in No 50 and Muuri areas where Somali troops have been trying to advance their war against Al-Qaeda-linked militants in Lower Shabelle region, sources said.
There are unknown casualties between the two sides, locals said. But government officials claim they have killed 6 rebel members and seized two others.
It’s said that the al-Shabaab group, this week, burnt residential areas near No. 50 and Muuri of South west.
